When you notice that your teeth are crooked, naturally you would go to the orthodontist and they would straighten your teeth. The question is what happens once the proper alignments are made?
In order to maintain or protect the work that has been accomplished in the straightening of the teeth, the orthodontist will give you a retainer to wear. The purpose of this retainer is to make sure what's been corrected stays that way. After a patient completes an initial phase of care at Precision, we offer protection plans to make sure that the corrections that we have made stay that way. Is it always a patient's choice whether they want to continue with protection. I had braces when I was a kid and chose not to wore my retainer very much and now I deal with the consequences of my lower teeth being out of alignment.
