Traditional Chiropractic Traditional Chiropractic focuses on decreasing muscle spasms/tensions, increasing range of motion, and the temporary reduction of pain. This is how most chiropractors practice and most of them do a fantastic job. However, the effects of treatment are short term and relief is temporary. This what what we refer to as Band-aid care. If you are driving your car and you hit a large pothole, the alignment of your car would shift. If all you did was change the tires, would it get rid of the underlying issue or should you fix the alignment of the car which is the true underlying cause of the problem.
Neural Correction At Specific Chiropractic, our focus is on Neural Correction. The first bone in your neck, also known at C1 or the Atlas, controls the alignment of the rest of your spine. When the Atlas or Upper Cervical alignment is normal, the rest of the spine is able to shift back into normal position and your body is able to hold your alignment for longer periods of time. The longer your body holds your alignment, the best chance the body has to heal. As in the example above, with this technique we are focusing on correcting the alignment of the car and not merely changing the tires.
